Considerations when upgrading to MT 3.0

I wouldn't say there's an exodus from but rather a small trickle away from it. PHP-based weblog publishing systems seem to be the popular alternative to MT for those that have switched, since those are the ones that have equalled MT in terms of features or surpassed (like Drupal, which is, admittedly, more CMS than personal publishing software).
