Just started following the Trackback weblog on movabletype.org. There will be threading and XHTML validity (I'm of the mind that XHTML validity, however desirable, is an elusive goal at best).
I will also enable TrackBack for this post, for those wanting to test it out (I'm testing it as well: hopefully I have all the templates right).

actually, xhtml validity is pretty easy to attain. I just did it with my new layout I'm working on. Also I found this site and it helped me a lot:
